a was an old Portuguese fortress built in Malacca, Malaysia, in 1511. The British destroyed most of it in 1807, but one gate called Porta de Santiago is still standing. It is now an important historic landmark, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the oldest European buildings still existing in Asia.
