The reflection in the lake shimmers gently, while birdlife crosses the lake in the distance. Lake Middleton is a small lake by the side of Lake Ohau in the Mackenzie district on New Zealand's South Island. Although there is a basic campsite on the lake, it is one of the lesser-known tourist spots in the area, so can be beautifully peaceful, especially in the winter.
