Shy and homebodies, they hunt fish, crustaceans and cephalopods at night, sometimes in groups. Viviparous, they reach maturity at 5 years of age and live up to 25 years. Females carry 1 to 5 young, measuring 50 cm at birth, after an unknown gestation period. Males bite to mate.
