ects are black with alternating yellow bands. Females can measure approximately 1 inch, while males are slightly larger and have longer antennae. Male wasps in this group do not have stingers and are generally considered harmless. This tropical climbing vine, also known as angled luffa, produces bright yellow, five-petaled flowers that are either male or female on the same plant. The plant has hairy leaves, yellow flowers, and produces long, ridged gourds that become fibrous as they dry. The plant itself is highly valued for its young, ribbed fruit, which is a nutritional powerhouse rich in fiber and vitamin C.
