The critical scale of natural reef bioerosion is visible in the pale, scoured limestone, demonstrating how intensively this parrotfish feeding territory is grazed by the harem-led school. By removing competitive algae blankets, their intense grazing clears vital space across the rock for new coral larvae to securely settle and grow.
