It is located at the foot of the Margalla Hills in the northern part of Islamabad. The mosque is one of the famous mosques in the Islamic world, donated and constructed by the late King Faisal of Saudi Arabia. It is the national mosque of Pakistan, and also the largest mosque in Pakistan and South Asia, and the sixth largest mosque in the world.
