al reefs of the Caribbean Sea now have another threat.Its about the aggressive invasion of the exotic soft coral,(Unomia stolonifera),native from Indonesia was first seen in the coast of Mochima National Park in Venezuela,Caribbean Sea,in 2005.It is believed that it was illegaly introduced between 2000 and 2005 by a species dealers for aquariums.To its great adaptability,rapid growth and reproduction(Unomia stolonifera) is considered a highly invasive specie.So far the invasion has not been controlled,spreading over large areas of the cost of Venezuela has happened.
